Insignia Firefly TV

Detailed description of the issue and steps to reproduce

Cannot sync sound between new Insignia TV and the Bose 300 (connected via Bluetooth).  There is a pairing/sync function on the TV, and it runs successfully between the TV and the speaker, but sound still does not match up with picture.  I have tried changing the modes on the TV (Dolby, etc.), and have tried re-pairing numerous times.  There is a sound delay adjustment on the TV, but it doesn't seem to help.

What environment do you experience the issue in? (e.g. noisy office, quiet kitchen, etc.)

When did you start to experience the issue? Did it work correctly previously?

Just got the TV two days ago.  Has not worked at all

Any troubleshooting steps you took

Just trying the different audio modes available on the TV, re-pairing and re-calibrating the sound between the 300 and the TV, powering off and on, and adjusting the available sound delay adjustment.

Re: Bose 300 Home Speaker sound sync with Insignia Firefly TV

Realistically this speaker is not designed as a TV speaker, but for music.  So sync adjustment is not something they would have thought of.  While it may get the sound closer to you, it won't improve vocals (no center channel or augmented dialogue mode), and it's just mono sound to boot.

As well as that (in my opinion) BT connection is still not good enough for TV.  It's suitable for headphones, but if you're trying to improve on TV speakers, then no.  Even if you connect to a soundbar, you downgrade the sound to stereo (or in your case mono), and it's still susceptible to lag.

Re: Bose 300 Home Speaker sound sync with Insignia Firefly TV

Regardless of the quality and without going into a long explanation, the connection with the Bose 300 is kind of essential.  It has nothing to do with the sound quality.  So with that in mind, do you think it is even possible to get this thing synced up or not?  I mean, why even have the Bluetooth setup with a sync function expressly for the Bose 300 if it's not possible to get it to work?

Probably not.  As I said BT is susceptible to video lag, and because this wasn't designed for video, it's not designed to correct for the lag.
