Bose 700 Soundbar universal remote Tv input issues

Hi,

I have a Sony 49XF9005 tv connected to Soundbar 700 via optical.

I have the universal remote configured but I am annoyed by the integration with my tv.

When I switch the remote to TV source it always displays Analogue tv channels configuration menu (don’t have analogue tv configured).

It does the same when I ask Alexa to switch to any HDMI source - instead of changing source to HDMI1 or any other, it switches my tv to Analogue Channels search menu.

Here is the video: https://youtu.be/Su45Lw5iFU0

Can I do something about it, it is very annoying!

Hi un hombre.

Thank you for getting back to us. I have looked into this for you.

To address the issue, please follow the steps below power cycle.

1. Sign out of your account in the Bose Music app.
2. Unplug the soundbar and router from power for 3 minutes.
3. After that, plug them back in and wait for the router and soundbar to fully restart.
4. Sign in back on the app and test the soundbar.

That should address the issue.

Hey @un hombre, thanks for posting!

I am sorry that you're having some issues with controlling sources via your remote and Alexa on your Soundbar 700.

When you say that you have the remote configured, do you have your sources set up? What would you like to display on the TV when your switch to that source?

In regards to using Alexa to control your sources, I noticed that your TV also has Alexa integrated. To avoid any miscommunication with Alexa, would you be able to disable this on your TV? Additionally, try asking Alexa to switch to the HDMI number that the Xbox is connected to.

Let me know how you get on with this.

Re: Bose 700 Soundbar universal remote Tv input issues

Hi @Charlotte_G ,

Thanks for getting back to me.

I don’t have any Sony Tv Alexa skill enabled separately - just Bose Soundbar 700 configured through the HDMI Arc and Universal remote (I presume this links with Alexa).
I have Xbox Series X set on HDMI 2 and Mac on HDMI4.

I think it is the Bose tech which links my tv with Alexa and allows me to switch HDMI ports via Alexa?

When I say Alexa, switch to HDMI2 I expect my tv to be displaying Xbox. Instead, it is redirecting me to Analogue tv channels screen.

This happens regardless of which hdmi I ask Alexa to switch to.

Re: Bose 700 Soundbar universal remote Tv input issues

Hello,

it has partially solved my problem, thanks for the advice @Marvin_B .

While it still displays the analogue tv channel configuration menu for a second, when switching HDMI, it then correctly views the proper source input.
