bose music.jfif
Starting December 2nd, a new Bose Music App update is available through the iOS App Store and Google Play Store. If your apps update automatically it may take until
December 5th, 2019 for you to see the update.

Version Information:

iOS: 3.0.0
Android: 3.0.1

Release Notes:

  • Welcome the Bose Portable Home Speaker to the Bose smart speaker family
  • Now you can enjoy a personal TV listening experience by grouping your Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 with a Bose Soundbar 500 or 700
  • Even more grouping options! Your Bose SoundLink Bluetooth speaker can now be grouped with a Bose smart speaker to hear the same music from both speakers in perfect sync
  • Keep listening (or sleeping) by toggling the auto-off function on your NC 700 Headphones
  • A few tweaks and fine-tuning to make the app more stable and less buggy

Additional Notes:

Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 - iOS and Android

  • Added the ability to toggle “Motion Detection” ON or OFF. Previously this was not a configurable setting. This setting is separate from the “auto-off timer” in the settings menu.

Smart Home Speakers and Soundbars

  • To get started with the new grouping features, open the Bose Music app on your mobile device and navigate to your Bose smart home speaker or soundbar. Then click on your product's image in the bottom-right of your screen, tap on group, and choose to add your Bose portable Bluetooth speaker or Bose wireless headphones to the group. Make sure your headphones or speaker is turned on and in discovery mode and that both devices have the most recent firmware updates. For more info on using groups, see the article here.
  • New Amazon Alexa Media Control features are coming. More information to come!
  • Connection help screen improvements for Portable Home Speaker.

Re: Bose Music App Update - 2 December 2019

The app no longer works for me. I get error messages on everything. “Hmmm. I can’t play that right now”. “Hmmmm, can’t find the update”. I’ve reinstalled the app twice. What now? No one answers the help chat.

My clock disappeared around update time. I tried toggling clock on and off. I also added a second bose device to my app, so that may have caused problem.

So that I can provide the correct troubleshooting methods can you both please answer the below questions:

  • Which device are you using?
  • Which product are you attempting to use with the Bose Music App?
  • Does the issue happen across all devices?

Re: Bose Music App Update - 2 December 2019

Hard to take this app seriously when it does not support local content over wifi through dlna. This should not even be a question.  Love the hardware, but this app is seriously deficient.  Bose is not Apple or MS. Proprietary, closed tech should be unacceptable to the consumer and to Bose.

The wifi is currently not really usable for anything but streaming and sdcard content.  Sure, there is bluetooth for local network content and Airplay, but time to move to the next level.

Limiting the playable content is like buying a feature phone from the 80s.

Re: Bose Music App Update - 2 December 2019

Hi Bose!

I have an idea for the next update, not sure if this is the right space for that, but at least I can try 🙂

My Bose Soundbar had a volume reach of 0 to 10. 10 is very loud, I never use that amount of sound. In practice, the volume is always between 0 and 3. So here comes my request :

Is it possible to create more small volume stept, instead of the 20 (?) steps that are now set? Or to chance the range manually (0-3, instead of 0-10).

With the Bose remote, this works fluently. It would be nice if this works in the app as well.

Kind regards,

Dennis
