The Bose Community Forum was launched at a time when robust online support was not available for Bose customers. Over the past several years we have added new online service channels that provide a more interactive and complete digital experience. Additionally, we have enhanced the My Bose Account capabilities to deliver a more personalized and self-service experience. As a result, Bose has made the decision to close Community Forum for Consumer electronics products on September 30th. The Bose Pro portion of the Community will still operate as usual.

Bose Portable Home Cannot connect to Google Assistant



I’ve been having my Portable Home Speaker for almost a year, just now I couldn't play Spotify on the speaker (using wifi connection), it said in the Spotify app that it is connected to the speaker, music was playing, but there was no sound coming out. 


With that, I had tried reconnecting the speaker to my wifi again multiple times, but still ended up having no sound when Spotify is connected and playing, so I had to reset all the settings (by pressing bluetooth + plus sign together for 10s) and re-add the speaker to Bose app again. Everything then works fine, I can now play Spotify on the speaker.


However, after the reset, in order for me to re-connect Google Assistant to the speaker, I had to go through the setting in Bose app. That's when I bumped into this issue. When I tried to get to the speaker setting, it just keeps downloading nonstop (you can refer to the screenshot). I had deleted the app and re-install a few times, also doesn't help. Could you please advise?

I had the same problem yesterday when I brought portable speaker camping where there is no WiFi. I tried several times. Every time the speaker confirmed it was connected to my phone. After several frustrating trials, I figured it out that it was actually the spotify app do I uninstall it from my phone and reinstall it. After signing into my account it worked fine!
