Same issue over here, in the beginning everything worked perfect, suddenly i had troubles. Sometimes no sound, sometimes both tv and soundbar give sound. If i unplug the tv from the power for 30 seconds it starts working again four a couple of days. Now the problem got worse, i have to unplug it every day! This isn’t normal for a high end product .. I have tried everything to get a long term fix, resetting tv and soundbar doesn’t do the trick. I’m getting frustrated from this problem i didn’t pay 1500 euro for a soundbar to use is it with optical? Bose you guys should get this problem fixed. Such a big company en you just ignore this problem for about 2 years or longer now. 

If you guys can’t fix it you should have to recall all the products from people who are having issues. And stop selling this piece of **bleep** product! Amazing sound, beautifull design but so disapointing if you can’t use arc funtionality. 

My setup is:

country: Belgium

Tv: Samsung UE55MU7040

Firmware: 1280

software version: T-KTMDEUC-1280.5, BT - S

 

Bose Soundbar 700

Firmware: 8.0.13-8133+552c64a

 

Cable box:

Orange decoder (belgian digital tv)

Model: Silicence SGS7233MB

 

Blu ray player:

Panasonic DMP-BDT180

 

I really hope you guys fix this problem.

Problem Solved!

When you listen to music on the Bose 700 Soundbar it will disconnect from the TV.  I created a routine in the Alexa App that reconnects the sound to the TV.  The three actions that I used was ‘Bose Soundbar 700 Power Off’ then ‘Wait 5 seconds’ then ‘Bose Soundbar 700 Power On.’  I activate this routine when there is no sound to my TV by saying ‘Alexa, turn on sound.’  This works every time and is a fix since Bose 700 Soundbar does not switch back to the TV automatically.

Same issue for me. Every now and then, the TV soundbar audio doesn’t work through HDMI ARC. Really frustrating as I have to power off both at the wall and wait 15secs and then turn back on. This has been an issue since day 1 when I bought the unit 18 months ago and only found this post as my wife keeps complaining about it.

I have this issue atleast once a week.... i can't believe this has been an ongoing issue for 2 years now! How can there not be a permanent fix?

Just took delivery of a brand new Bose Soundbar 500.

I've connected the HDMI from the Soundbar to HDMI 1 (ARC) on the TV.

The existing HDMI connection is moved to HDMI2

TV information: Toshiba 2012, Model 40PX200E, 1.0.5.0.00 Jun 22 2012 - 607301, MBoot version 598641

 

I've tried the steps but still fail. 

 

Please advise what else can I try?

Try resetting your TV and then apply the HDMI cables from your devices.     

Alternatively try going into your TV settings and readdressing the port configurations.

Turn on CEC on the TV and speaker.

Resetted the TV, reapplied the HDMI, still doesn't work. I also tried disabling CEC, restart TV and soundbar. still no go.

 

Any other possibilities?

Sign out of your Bose account,Reboot your router, sign back in your Bose account.

Try the following:

- in your Bose Music App, have CEC turned on

-in your TV settings, have CE-link or Regza link set to on (what Toshiba calls CEC)
-make sure your HDMI cable is in the arc output port of your TV.

if this doesn’t work, try the alternate CEC mode in your Bose Music App
