Connecting Soundbar 700 with Tata Sky HD Set top box

I have Bose Sound bar 700 and am trying to use it with Tata Sky HD Set top box.

The Tata Sky HD STB has SPDIF optical out terminal. My TV has HDMI In but does not have ARC/ eARC. In this situation, how to listen to the sound from programmes shown by Tata Sky Set Top box on Soundbar 700?

Use optical cable from your TV to your Bose.  Go into your TV settings and turn off the TV internal speakers and turn on optical out.

The tv does not have optical out. 
only the set top box has optical out.

Time for a new TV.

Or, HDMI out from set top box to TV and optical out from set top box to Bose.

For the time being can I connect the set top box optical out directly to the sound bar ?

Yes, that is a perfectly good way to do it.  You may have to adjust the sync of sound and video in your tv settings.

Can we connect the TV Analog audio out with 3 party A to D converter to Soundbar 700 optical port.
