Does Airplay 2 allow playing music to multiple speakers of multiple brands at the same time?

Hi, I have 4 FreeSpace51 speakers in the garden and 6 of Bose Smart Home speakers (mix of 500 and 300 model). Bose Community suggested to buy a Airplay-2 enabled amplifiers to power my FreeSpace51 as the Bose SA-5 is not available any more. I went online and found the  Yamaha WXA-50 (https://it.yamaha.com/it/products/audio_visual/wireless_streaming_amplifiers/wxa-50/index.html).

Now the key questions is: will I be able to play the same music to BOTH the Yamaha WXA-50 (which in turns powers the FreeSpace51 in the garden) AND the Bose Smart Home Speakers in the house at the same time from my iphone? Some people say yes (Airplay 2 works with multiple brands) but some say no (you need to have the same brand) so I am just very confused  and don't want to spend money before getting to the bottom of this!

Hello Ranieript,

Thanks for posting.

Airplay 2 does indeed allow you to connect multiple speakers from different brands together in groups. This is set up via the Airplay menu on your iOS/Apple device.

I hope this helps.
