Alexa doesn’t work as well once it’s connected to the Soundbar so I’d like to separate them. But it appears once they’re connected there is no way to disconnect them, either from the Alexa app or the Bose Music app. What can I do to make them work independently?

So that I can get a better understanding can you please confirm the product that you are attempting to do this from? Are you referring to the Soundbar 500?

You can remove Alexa from your Soundbar via the Bose Music App > Select the Soundbar 500 > Settings > Voice Assistant > Alexa > Remove Account. This will remove Alexa from the Soundbar allowing you to achieve the separation you were looking for.
