How to disconnect Bose Soundbar 500 from Alexa

Alexa doesn’t work as well once it’s connected to the Soundbar so I’d like to separate them. But it appears once they’re connected there is no way to disconnect them, either from the Alexa app or the Bose Music app. What can I do to make them work independently?

Re: How to disconnect Bose Soundbar 500 from Alexa

Hi kstad,

Thanks for posting and welcome to the Bose Community. I am sorry to hear that you are having issues removing Alexa and I would love to assist you with this.

So that I can get a better understanding can you please confirm the product that you are attempting to do this from? Are you referring to the Soundbar 500?

I look forward to hearing back from you so that I can assist you with this.

Kind Regards,

Hi Hector,

Yes it’s the Soundbar 500. I accidentally wrote Soundlink, but edited my original post.

Re: How to disconnect Bose Soundbar 500 from Alexa

Hi kstad,

Thanks for posting and updating me on this!

You can remove Alexa from your Soundbar via the Bose Music App > Select the Soundbar 500 > Settings > Voice Assistant > Alexa > Remove Account. This will remove Alexa from the Soundbar allowing you to achieve the separation you were looking for.

If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to ask.

Kind Regards,

Hector B
