Managing input on Bose 500 soundbar

Quoting a post opened for Bose 700 Soundbar, I'm posting here the proposal for an update on Bose firmware e and app:

In order to extend the ability to manage at the best the switching between devices you can:

- update the app and soundbar firmware to let it automatically change the input with the priority set in the app

- introduce a new option in the app to let user select the priority of input source

For example, if a user set TV input as priority (I guess most of users would select this), the soundbar can change the input to TV automatically whenever there is audio signal coming from HDMI. If there is no audio signal coming from HDMI, the soundbar can stay at the latest input source.

It's difficult for us to provide an ETA for when a feature such as what you've explained will be integrated into the app. However, my best advice would be to stay up-to-date with the Community and our socials to ensure you know about any firmware releases as soon as possible!

In the Bose Soundbar 700 discussion one user has said that finally he can use Alexa voice control and say "Alexa, input TV". This was May 2020. I am using google assistant on my SB 500 and have still not found any way to change to TV input using my voice. Can you please confirm if this is possible, and what the command would be? If not, is Bose working on this and what is holding it up? This is currently the only thing in my "smart home" that cannot be controlled using voice and means that I always need the remote or app close by, and it is so irritating that I am about to return my soundbar. 

If this is not possible, please add the feature described in a post above where TV input is always default/used if there is a sound signal from the TV via the HDMI cable. 

Hope you understand that these kind of features are just as important as sound quality with so many good competitors on the market.
