I've recently purchased the Soundbar 500 and connected it via HDMI Arc. The sound is good but I was just wondering if it was actually outputting Dolby Digital?
To be fair I don't have the Subwoofer or Rear Speakers so it won't really work in that sense. But as I'm watching the TV or streaming a film - I should hopefully know that if the audio track contains DD then it will be decoded - and it's just whether I can see that?
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Bose Community.
I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying the sound of the Soundbar 500.
The Soundbar does support Dolby Digital and if the source is outputting DD then it will certainly decode, however, as you mentioned, you may not notice much difference as you do not have the full 5.1 system including the Bass Module and the Surround Speaker.
