Soundbar 500

Hi,

- Before buying a Soundbar 500, I want to be sure a Cromecast-Ultra can be connected with HDMI, for casting audio from apps in a mobile?

- I also think of using a converter "AV to TOSlink" for connecting an old phonoplayer (Thoréns) with RCA contacts to the optical input. The converter seams to sample with 47 kHz, is that a high enough frequency or will there be a great loss of the music bandwidth? Will the phono signal be strong enough for conversion (or is a pre-amplifier needed)?

- If both the HDMI and the optical input thus are connected, how to select which one to be played? The remote control has just one button for "TV".

Best regards   Lars H

The Soundbar 500 only has 1 input.  The optical and hdmi are linked so that if someone doesn't have a HDMI(arc) port on thier TV they  can use optical.  It will automatically overide HDMI if there is a source going into the optical.

This is designed so that all devices are plugged into your TV and then the TV outputs the sound to the Soundbar.

So plug the Chromecast into your TV HDMI and then use the HDMI(arc) or optical out to the bose.

Re: Soundbar 500

The tempered glass top on ST500 is not durable. If there is a factory defect, it can shatter and break into tiny pieces of glass on its own. Just like what happened to mine and looks like few others have also faced the issue with the glass top on soundbar. Avoid the product, if haven't purchased yet.
