My soundbar 700 has just been updated to firmware 9.0.14.
Can you advise what's new in this firmware?
Any update in regards to the ARC issue ongoing for over a year?

@ThierryStephane I too believe ARC problem (i.e., not finding the soundbar, tv switching back to TV source from HDMI) has been a major pain for over a year now....I sometimes wonder how come all other manufacturers get this right but Bose does not....
Please just say that you have done something about the ARC issue. Many soundbars will die from being reset , powered on/off several hundred times....

It does not address that problem as mine has repeatedly dropped of HDMI ARC since this update. Think I will leave it on optical cable to save further frustration. Not what I initially paid top dollar for though.

HDMI ARC is frustrating. TV Sound goes silent many times (particularly when switching from Music or Bluetooth input to TV input), then restart the whole system again and again to get sound back. Finally had to move back to optical but I feel there is drop in audio quality when connected through optical cable. It is a vicious circle, I wish Bose notices this issue and fix it.

I found this thread searching for the a solution to the ARC issue. I have an xbox hooked up to my tv via hdmi 2 and the soundbar hooked to the ARC input of the TV. When I turn on the xbox via the button on the bose remote, the soundbar switches inputs to the soundbar splash screen. I have to press the input button to return to the xbox home screen. It's frustrating to have to switch back.
