Switching from Wi-Fi to Ethernet

I have a Bose Soundbar 700.

When I set it up last weekend, I used Wi-Fi.

I plugged in Ethernet last night, but the Soundbar is still using Wi-Fi.

How do I get it to change to using the Ethernet connection?

(And Bose product folks IMHO this should be automatic or at least in the app somehow!)

Thanks.

Re: Switching from Wi-Fi to Ethernet

Did you check your router app to see if it says wired or wireless?

The Soundbar switches to Ethernet automatic. I switched my Soundbar 700 between wired and wireless many times and it works automatically every time.

Re: Switching from Wi-Fi to Ethernet

Yes, I checked the router and it says that it's still connected via wireless.

The switch that I have the Ethernet cable connected to shows the connection light on.

Does the Soundbar 700 use the same MAC address for wireless and Ethernet?

Thanks.

Re: Switching from Wi-Fi to Ethernet

Hi JTo,

Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community.

If you wish to change to an Ethernet connection from a Wifi Connection, you will need to set your system up again.

You'll need to remove your Soundbar from the application by going to my Bose, manage products, edit, Delete.

Then you'll need to pop your Soundbar into set up mode by pressing and folding the TV icon and Skip Back together on the remote until you get an amber light on the Soundbar.

You'll then need to follow the on-screen instructions to set it back up.

If you have any questions or need further assistance please reach out again!

Kindest,
