220 V to 110 V

I have Bose Acoustimass 10 Series system purchased from Dubai, which works on 220V, however now I live in Canada where the power supply is 110V. Wondering what should I do to use it safely in Canada considering the power supply difference.  Please help.
Thanks,
Mahesh

Re: 220 V to 110 V

HI Mahes,

The Acoustimass 10 system bought in Dubai will be built for 220v only. To use this safely you will need to purchase a step-up voltage transformer to convert power from 110v to 220v.  The maximum power consumption listed for this speaker system is listed as 270 W, so be sure to choose a transformer which can support at least that much power (more if you want to plug in other 220v electronics at the same time.)
Hope this helps!

Re: 220 V to 110 V

Thank you George, this is very helpful. Is there any recommended product/brand for step up voltage transformar. Where should I be looking for to buy one.
Thanks
Mahesh

Re: 220 V to 110 V

Hi Mahesh,
Unfortunately we cannot mention or recommend any specific manufacturers or models for use with this product. Above a certain quality threshold most power transformers perform equally well.
Other members of the Owners Community are welcome to speak up and make suggestions if they so wish.
Thank you.
