Bose Soundtouch 10 speakers don't integrate with Soundbar 300

Why can't we integrate the Bose Soundtouch 10 speakers with the Soundtouch 300 Soundbar?  Our salesperson told us difintively that our existing Soundtouch 10 speakers would integrate seemlessly into the Bose Soundtouch family, including the soundbar and subwoofer.  With that confirmation, we purchased the Bose Soundbar 300 and Accoustimass 300 for use with our Samsung Smart TV.

Unfortunately, it appears this is not the case, even though we understand that Sonos and other competitors DO have fully integrated systems of this quality.  Is Bose going to update firmware so we can utilize these expensive satellite speakers or are we to be left out in the cold?

Re: Bose Soundtouch 10 speakers don't integrate with Soundbar 300

Hi BlueMax,

Thanks for reaching out with your concerns. There are several ways you can configure different speakers with your SoundTouch 300 system. If you would like to integrate SoundTouch 10 speakers you can use the AUX rebroadcast feature which will allow you to play the same audio from your TV. Due to inherent networking limitations, there will be an audio delay. This setup works best, for example, when you are watching a ball game in your living room and want to hear the game in another room. If you would like to achieve surround sound for your TV, then you can use the Virtually Invisible 300 rear surround speakers.

I hope that helps! If you have any further questions, please let us know.

Re: Bose Soundtouch 10 speakers don't integrate with Soundbar 300

Thank you, Tony, we appreciate your recommendations.  However, we are still disappointed in the lack of seamless integration within the high-end SoundTouch systems, something we understand your competitors have perfected.  Please forward our concerns to your developers!

As to your suggestions of using the AUX key to rebroadcast, do you have an instructional article for accomplishing this?  Overall, we are having some real frustrations interpreting the Soundbar 300 functions.  For example, we cannot adjust the bass level using the app, we cannot switch back from the SoundTouch mode to TV mode using the app, and the system repeatedly loses the ability to switch back to the TV period (without a reset).  It appears that other users are also extremely frustrated with some of these issues.

Re: Bose Soundtouch 10 speakers don't integrate with Soundbar 300

Hello @BlueMax,

Thank you for the suggestions and I will be more than happy to pass these along to development as feedback. As for accomplishing Play All with a video source, the following should help:

  • Start Video Source on SoundTouch 300
  • Open the SoundTouch application, make sure the SoundTouch 300 is selected
  • Choose "Play All" and the stream will then come out of all SoundTouch systems

Hope this helps.

Kind Regards,

Joel
