Charging an Android phone from the Micro USB on the Sound touch 30

I noticed that when I had my Samsung phone plugged into the Micro USB port of my sound touch 30 it was charging, the instructions say its not meant to be used for this but I cant see how this would be an issue, does anybody know if its acceptable to do this

Thanks for the inquiry, the USB ports on your SoundTouch system are for our technicians to use for system diagnostics within our repair facility but any USB will provide power. Typically this provided power is not enough to charge modern mobile devices quickly but you can feel free to use it if it works for you!
