It should show that an update is available when you open the Soundtouch app on your smartphone. You then need to allow it to proceed with the update. With my system, there was an update for the app, as well as the console.
Did my update yesterday & so far it seems to have resolved the problem. Fingers crossed that it stays this way.

Yes, there are four phases to the roll out, each on a separate day. Once you update, let us know if it resolves the issue for you.

Dear Bose,
After suffering from this issue for a while (and thinking the issue was with the USB cable) I came across this forum, only to realise that although there is a known fix, it is being pruposefully and consciously delayed in its rollout.
Could I kindly ask you to a) accellerate the rollout in Germany, and b) confirm the exact release date!
That this is utterly unacceptable from a manufactuer that would like to be positioned as "premium" and charges accordingly goes without saying. To the extent where switching to Sonos has become a VERY appealing option
