Not sure when it started to be honest. I first observed when I was checking out my new TV about 3-4 w back. When I observed the issue with my TV that’s when I checked out to see if I had the same problem with my set top box. I remember for sure that it used to be able to decode DD+ before.
Even if you notice the beginning of this thread it mentions that the issue was noticed after the last firmware update.
I'm in the exact same problem with my LS650.
TV : LG OLED65 B7T
I've done several tests to compare the result with the different combination.
The sound is distorted while DD+ over ARC from TV to LS650 (With the latest update).
* Distorted - Netflix with DD+ audio. The LS650 source shows DD+ 5.1.
* Distorted - The test tones(Dolby Digital lab) are played by the TV built-in player. The LS650 source shows DD+ 5.1.
* Works - The test tones(Dolby Digital lab) are played by the OPPO UDP-203 player. The audio output from 4K player to Bose HDMI port.
I dunno if it worked or not before FW upgrade tho. I got new account for Netflix testing days ago. The LPCM 2.0 works for all cases.

There is no new information at this time. Once we hear back from engineering, we will post it in the community.
Yesterday I did the last firmware upgrade for the LS650 and the problem with DD via ARC is disappeared both with Netflix and Amazon Video.
the audio is recognized like DD (not DD+) but it works again.
