Mobile app and Desktop App are not in sync

Hello All
After the last update (3-4 weeks ago) the Desktop app, installed on a Windows machine and the mobile app, installed on several Android machines, are not in sync. There are 10 products installed - 8 ST10, one SA-5 and one ST20. Some of the products appear as not connected on Windows machine but on Android looks connected. Of course, product are connected and running all right. But they cannot be controlled from Windows machine. Reinstalled several times on the same Windows machine. Changed the machine with a different one but mwithout success. The apps and products were installed aprox one month before software update and everything was working fine. Something has been changed in the update. What can be done in order to use the Windows machine to control the products ?
I attach two print screens one from windows and one from android.
Thank you
Cristi

Re: Mobile app and Desktop App are not in sync

Hi crisant,
I am sorry to hear the computer app is not working correctly and would like to help. I would like to get some additional information about your setup.
1. Does the computer connect to the network by Ethernet, Wi-fi, or both at different times?
2. What is the Brand and model # of your router? (even if this is not a router issue, this information may help us see the big picture)
3. Beyond the Main router, does your home use any additional network hardware to reach farther? This could be
Wired - Ethernet switches, hubs, or power-line adapters
Wireless - Extenders, repeaters, Access points, etc.
4. Which operating system are you running on the PC?
Thanks
Shawn

Re: Mobile app and Desktop App are not in sync

Hello Shawn,
1. Computers connects only through wifi. There are multiple PCs in the network and all have the Soundtouch app installed with the same problem.
2. and 3. APs are Asus and Dlink. There are 3 APs wired into a switch. Router Asus.
4. Windows 8 and Windows 10 the same problem.
Thanks, Cristi

Re: Mobile app and Desktop App are not in sync

Thank you for your reply, Cristi
It is possible that your computers and android are connecting to different AP's and that the computer is having difficulty discovering systems which are connected to a different AP.

  1. Does each AP broadcast its own SSID? or is there one SSID for the entire home?
  2. Is there a secondary SSID being broadcast from the Main router, such as a "5G" or "Guest" segment of the network?
  3. Are all three AP's set with the identical security type to the Main router? (generally WPA2-PSK, TKIP/AES)
  4. IF possible, temporarily disable or unplug your AP's and test with all (or most) devices connected to the main router. Does the issue remain in this configuration?

Thank you.
