The Bose Community Forum was launched at a time when robust online support was not available for Bose customers. Over the past several years we have added new online service channels that provide a more interactive and complete digital experience. Additionally, we have enhanced the My Bose Account capabilities to deliver a more personalized and self-service experience. As a result, Bose has made the decision to close Community Forum for Consumer electronics products on September 30th. The Bose Pro portion of the Community will still operate as usual.

SoundTouch 30 series 3 no power after static noise

I was satisified customer of Bose Companion 2 Series II and SoundLink Mini II until a new set of SoundTouch 30 series 3. I set up the new system November 13 it requested me to update the firmware, but after updating, there were static noises from bluetooth, wifi, then the power fails.so I contacted the customer service 1800 number and the person replied me to send it back to the service. The problem is I'm middle of nowhere, Mandalay, Myanmar the nearest service center, Hong Kong is about 2000 km away! 

 

I'm really disappointed though I emailed to customer service for further details for shipping out, but no reply as yet!

After several attempts to contact with support (each calls took average 30 mins.)  I finally got a chance to talk to Hong Kong representative. She asked for receipts that I didn't keep (another lesson learned, keep your Bose receipts safe and handy!). She said they would charge me HK$ 1200 for inspection if I can't provide original receipt! I will also have to pay third party logistics such as DHL to send on my own. That's nightmare! Anyway, I provided my details. I'm expecting that Bose would resolve this issue much more reasonably rather than asking for unreasonable amount of charges! Case open...

Thanks for writing in!  Sorry to hear about the troubles but the serial number from the product does indicate that it is outside of our 1 year manufacturer's warranty by 3 months.  Unless the service center can get proof of purchase, perhaps even a bank statement showing the purchase, they may be able to work with you on the service.
