SoundTouch 300 connection ethernet wifi

Hi,
Yesterday I bought soundtouch and made quick installation to Samsung TV.
ARC works fine, I have problem to add soundbar into my soundtouch app account.
On the begining app find properly speaker and next step is sign to account.
But at the end appears warning that can not add this speaker into my account.

Trying in 2 different mobiles, 2 different app accounts, also via PC. Ethernet and WiFi method. Directly connection usb-PC.
The same issue.

I made firmware updates throw directly connection soundbar - PC by usb cable to latest FW (19.04).
Also I set static IP for this device.
Also trayed "Connecting to a Wi-Fi network - Alternate setup method" but I can't fill in web because it refreshing constantly in 2 different browsers (IE & Chrome).

Before I bought ST 300 I sell ST 20 which works well in this ethernet.

Re: SoundTouch 300 connection ethernet wifi

Hi swiatus85,

Thank you for posting and welcome to the Bose Community.

Sorry to hear you are running into this issue.

What is your make and model of the router? Also, have you tried rebooting both the SoundTouch 300 and router from power by unplugging them for 30 seconds?

Let us know the results.

Yes I plugged off all switches, also made factory reset of Soundbar.
I have TP-Link Archer C7 v2 with FW OpenWrt Chaos Calmer 15.05.1.

Re: SoundTouch 300 connection ethernet wifi

Hi swiatus85,

Thank you for the update.

Since this is custom firmware that you loaded onto your router, we may need to check a few things.

  • Is multicast currently enabled?
  • can you verify the following ports are allowed which are needed for SoundTouch

Port    Type    Service or Protocol    Used By
80       TCP    Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP)    AirPlay, SoundTouch
123     UDP    Network Time Protocol (NTP)    SoundTouch
443     TCP    Secure Sockets Layer (SSL, or "HTTPS")    AirPlay
554     TCP/UDP    Real-Time Streaming Protocol    AirPlay, SoundTouch
1900    UDP    Simple Service Discovery Protocol (SSDP)    Bonjour
3689    TCP    Digital Audio Access Protocol (DAAP)    AirPlay
5350    UDP    NAT Port Mapping Protocol Announcements    Bonjour
5351    UDP    NAT Port Mapping Protocol    Bonjour
5353    UDP    Multicast DNS (MDNS)    Bonjour, AirPlay
8080 - 8085 (PC)
8085 - 8089 (Mac)    TCP/UDP    HTTP, DLNA    SoundTouch
8090    TCP    HTTP    SoundTouch
8883    MQTT    Remote connections    Alexa Skill
17008    TCP    Bose Proprietary    SoundTouch, Bonjour

Let us know the results.

Regards,

Joel

Re: SoundTouch 300 connection ethernet wifi

Hi swiatus85,

If you are referring to multicast, this is needed by SoundTouch to be able to talk to your SoundTouch app(s) and the server as well. If this is disabled, it can cause the symptom you are experiencing with system detection.

One other thing I can suggest is to make sure your 2.4 and 5ghz network names are different. This can prevent any confusion that may happen when trying to detect the system.

Regards,

Joel

Re: SoundTouch 300 connection ethernet wifi

I solved problem.
I don't have multicast option onto my router.
To have it I need instal extra plugin ang configurate it.

How I solve:
Used 2 mobile phones, in first phone set WiFi tethering, second phone connected in "temporary" WiFi.
Now on second phone I started connecting soundbar with app.
App recognize and we'll sign soundbar onto my account.
Later normally connect ethernet cable onto soundbar and run app in "normal" wi-fi configuration.
Done 😉
