Soundtouch will not work when devices are on different networks ?

Hello,

My home setup uses a range of IPs for the WIFI devices and another range of IPs for the WIRED network. Both networks are connected by a ROUTER and access from one network to the other is allowed.

I also have Efficient Multicast Forwarding and IGMPproxy enabled, but from my mobile app I can see all my WIFI soundtouch devices but I can't see my WIRED Soundtouch devices.

Is there a way to make this work?

Re: Soundtouch will not work when devices are on different networks ?

The speakers are a home device, so designed to be on the Same IP Segment. I belive it uses something similar to Bonjour to detect speakers on the network using broadcast. If you can see the speakers between the two IP segments using broadcast then you should be fine.

I cant think of a way of making it work otherwise, as these were designed to be on the same network. Any traffic or packet shaping could cause audio delay between the speakers over the network and you might get speakers out of sync.
