Synology NAS and Searching Media Library Not Working

I found a few other threads about this but they're all in the archive and seem to be unresolved.

 

Has anyone had any luck with searching a media library on a Synology NAS?  Searching brings a "1647 - That didn't work. Play something else or try syncing your music library" error.  

 

Someone suggested changing the DLNA Device Profile on the Synology to Windows Media Player - that didn't work either.  And when doing that, it eliminated the option of browsing "By Album", "By Folder", etc.  

 

Switching back to "Roku" (which for whatever reason was chosen by default), makes those options come back up.  But searching still doesn't work.  

 

Any suggestions?  I don't know the specifics of what DLNA Profiles are, but to me it seems like the Synology needs to be told how to properly format the DLNA metadata.  

 

Edit:  FYI this is on a DS216Play running the latest DSM 6.1.7-15284 and the latest version 1.7.9-2858 of Media Server

I have the same problem, do BOSE support address these issues
