Re: TuneIn is replacing Internet Radio!

Same problem as Georges  It is a pity to get rid of stations that capture together more or less half of the audience in our country (Belgium). Bose should provide the users with a way to add own streaming urls, no need to rely only on TuneIn of similar broadcasters.  Until you provide us with a solution, my SoundTouch is basically useless,  I am interrested in :

I see the Bose Moderators are online addressing other issues, like someone who's trying connect their Echo Dot to their SoundTouch. They seem to be largely ignoring this thread though.

Do they not care that their customers are planning to ditch their products? Some kind of explanation would be nice, and some assurance that they're going to do something about it.

In another life I have been a moderator (not paid for it) in various Forums. It is not an easy job because, most of the time, you do not know anything more than the regular user. As said in French, you are between the anvil and the hammer...

I do not blame the Moderator, they do their job here as best as they can. Bose, as an entity is to blame, for bad move, bad timing, bad way to deal with our (legitimate) anger, absence of answer... and so on.

I appreciate they may not have answers, but they can at least give us an indication that they're looking into addressing our concerns. It's not like there's thousands of threads to respond to on this forum. It's their job to handle customer relations. Saying nothing is not the way to go about it.

Bose may impose them to say nothing. I mean it is possible they want to communicate but are not allowed to do it.

Re: TuneIn is replacing Internet Radio!

Hi

15 minutes delay since last week! (Also on other places)

I use Tune In since a year and never had that problem before.

Come on...!

That said...

Bose, I have 6 SoundTouch systems.

your communication is not good at all

the improvements should be quicker and better

They are not looking into it.

They did their job and forwarded our complaints to dev/marketing. Dev/marketing won't care at all, period.

Listening to radio stations is 50% of my usage, and I lost ALL the radio stations I listened to with this update. Needless to say my 4 speakers are 50% less usefull now.

End of the story for me, I'm looking for a replacement for my multiroom system, and I mean it.

Re: TuneIn is replacing Internet Radio!

This stunt from Bose dropped me 25 years back in time, do i have to get the old dusty antenna radio out of storage and go buy a battery? Or are you going to fix the two hour delay in our local radistation in Iceland?

Re: TuneIn is replacing Internet Radio!

Oh dear. I've had my speaker (which I really like BTW) for just a couple of months. And you've removed a very useful, flexible feature for *zero* good reason. I assume you've entered into a commercial exclusivity aggrement with the TunedIn. You've made your product worse. Any you've irrirated a lot of people in the process. Fortuately, I also have Volumio installed on a little raspberryPi, attached to my home cinema system. That's open source, and you can play anything, from anywhere. So, please tell me, how can I get my money back on the speaker?

Hi QuilpieGuy

Thanks for writing in!

We've made the move to TuneIn because it has a very reliable and robust stream and should have the same content as Internet Radio from vTuner.  If you are having any troubles finding the stations you're looking for, I'd definitely recommend contacting TuneIn as they're very receptive to making changes.

Warm Regards,

Tony A

I think this thread goes to show TuneIn is NOT "a very reliable and robust system." Instead, it's missing half the channels from vTuner and the channels it does have are either way behind (15+ minutes) or of such low quality it's not worth having an expensive speaker. Also, as I mentioned yesterday, they are not receptive to making changes instead they tell you to contact the radio stations directly.

Perhaps you can offer us a refund on the many thousands of dollars/pounds/euros we've spent on these high-end products which have just been made a lot worse. Or a much simpler solution is let us connect to our own streams via a URL.

Re: TuneIn is replacing Internet Radio!

The most ironic part of this debacle in my opinion is that two of the most popular stations in the Boston market (where Bose WW HQ is located) are NOT available on TuneIn. Kiss 108 and Mix 104.1
