The Bose Community Forum was launched at a time when robust online support was not available for Bose customers. Over the past several years we have added new online service channels that provide a more interactive and complete digital experience. Additionally, we have enhanced the My Bose Account capabilities to deliver a more personalized and self-service experience. As a result, Bose has made the decision to close Community Forum for Consumer electronics products on September 30th. The Bose Pro portion of the Community will still operate as usual.

I am so disappointed with Bose as well. Will wait until Feb 2020 For airplay then will definitely sell out. Come on Bose do something. You are losing customers everyday.

The deadline is Saturday, February 29, 2020. That is clear. The expected consequences in the event that the deadline is not met are just as clear.

This is great news for those that waited the (unbelievably ridiculous) time that Bose took to get there. For me it was a bridge too far and I sold out of Bose - been incredibly happy with SONOS for some time now. It just works.
This is good news for Bose as it means that their remaining existing users will get be able to stay with Bose and potentially buy new products while using the Airplay-ready ecosystem.
I still think that Bose did damage to their brand and unnecessarily lost customers by how incredibly poorly they have handled communications on this issue.

So it’s now Feb 23, and so far no one has posted feedback about receiving the update. I’ve been waiting for it myself, but so far nothing. Has anyone actually gotten it?
I’ve switched it off and on again. I’ve spammed the Update button on the app a gazillion times. Nothing.
