pauses /lag time during internet streaming music

When streaming music from internet services like Spotify, I experience sudden stops or pauses and a signficant lag time until it starts up again. Very jarring and ruins the entire purpose of wireless streaming speakers.

Facts:

1. Product:  Soundtouch 10.

2. The speaker is located right next to the router.

3. I live in an urban area and I (supposedly) have "high-speed" internet service.

I am looking for troubleshooting information to determine whether the problem is with the router, the speaker itself, internet speed/connectivity issues or something else. I find no information in the Bose website Support area on this topic.

Can anyone help? I'm a basic informed user, not an audiophile or IT type person.  THANK YOU!

Thank you for posting in the community!  I'm sorry to hear about your Spotify issue, but I'd be glad to help.  Just need a few clarifications here:

 

  • Are you streaming from the Bose SoundTouch app or using Spotify Connect?
  • Have you rebooted your router/modem/speaker yet? 
  • Has Spotify ever worked in the past without issues?
