Re: soundTouch and turntable

Hi William,

Thanks for your question! A classic turntable will need pre-amplification to connect to the 3.5mm AUX input on a Soundtouch Speaker.  Some newer turntables have a built-in preamp which will boost the signal up to line level. Older turntables may require you to connect a separate phono preamp before plugging in to the SoundTouch system.

Obviously you will also need the appropriate adapter cable to change from the RCA style connectors on the turntable to a 3.5mm jack. Generic parts for this will work perfectly well.

Let us know if you have any further questions. Thank you.

Re: soundTouch and turntable

William,

This is a good choice.

That Lenco L-90 model lists in its features "Integrated switchable stereo pre-amplifier" . Because this is the case, you should be able to use it directly with the Soundtouch by AUX input. (no additional pre-amp will be needed).

You may still need the RCA to 3.5mm adapter.

Hope this helps!

Re: soundTouch and turntable

Do you think Crosley Collegiate USB Turntable CR6010A would work with my SoundTouch?
It has a Headphone Out.

Re: soundTouch and turntable

Jb,
My ST20 has an AUX input on the back. I think every SoundTouch speaker has one.

Thank you George, I could connect my Mk2 turntable to the SoundTouch SA-5 using an preamp.
My Mk2 1200 is alive!

Re: soundTouch and turntable

Hi everyone, I have an old tunrtable and amp - I was told by the sales person that I could just use an RCA-to-minijack right  into the mini-jack plug in the back of the soundtouch and play it on AUX but it doesn't seem to be working 😞
