Re: 11/28 Update: TuneIn/internet Radio Information

Hi, everyone.... here is a workaround that seams to work, where you can define your favorite radio on your preset....but where you need a NAS or a server....I don’t have...It’s based on MinimServer (https://minimserver.com/). Explanation are in French but you can easily let translate it by google

#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:-1,[;mp3]Pure FM
http://radios.rtbf.be/pure-128.mp3
#EXTINF:-1,[;mp3]Classic 21
http://radios.rtbf.be/classic21-128.mp3
#EXTINF:-1,[;mp3]La Premiere
http://radios.rtbf.be/laprem1ere-128.mp3
#EXTINF:-1,[;mp3]VivaCite
http://radios.rtbf.be/vivacharleroi-128.mp3
#EXTINF:-1,[;mp3]Musiq'3
http://radios.rtbf.be/musiq3-128.mp3
#EXTINF:-1,[;mp3]NRJ Be
http://streamingp.shoutcast.com/NRJPremium
#EXTINF:-1,[;mp3]Bel RTL
http://audiostream.rtl.be/belrtl128
#EXTINF:-1,[;mp3]Nostalgie
http://broadcast.infomaniak.net/nostalgiepremium-128.mp3

Ce n'est probablement la solution idéale, mais c'est à mon gout, nettement plus confortable que le Bluetooth surtout si on a plusieurs enceintes SoundTouch à la maison.
Bien à vous.

Re: 11/28 Update: TuneIn/internet Radio Information

I guess we'll soon get some of our missing favourite radiostations back on SoundTouch with TuneIn ... when we pay for it like on a Amazon Echo.

I'm very disappointed in Bose. I've been a satisfied customer for decades. But ever since I use the SoundTouch 130, 30 and adapter, there have been many problems, way too many.

Re: 11/28 Update: TuneIn/internet Radio Information

This Update/change to Tuneln without our prior knowledge has completely disabled my ability to listen to internet radio....!

The system cannot find ANY stations!

This systems does not work! I HAD 7 soundlink speakers off all sizes and I now cannot listen to radio (unless fm on individual speakers)

WHY?

I think that it is time to sell Bose and find a system that works with support that is able to help!

Classic FM Chrismas : In the United Kingdom

I see Classic FM okay, but not it's seasonal sister.

For obvious reasons, it'd probably best to get this one sorted sooner rather than later 🙂

And how do they justify their cut?

Read the updated user agreement we are all subject to.

Her is a snippet that essentially states they monitor what hardware you have /use, what media you listen to and when. So they can determine based on average user data what type of music is most popular, how many listeners to establish impressions per 1,000, ad rates.

But what's worse is the crapy stations now offered. Tunein makes me want to tune out! A whole slew of commercial stations. Gone are the cool niche staions offering uninterrupted unique music.

Snippet from current user agreement: " Big Brother is here" Who knew when you picked up your Bose equipment a few years ago this is what you were signing up for. Just took the time to get the back end server tech. sorted and enough folks on high speed. This was on the roadmap I expect for years.

Connected Bose products. If you connect your Bose product (such as headphones or speakers) to the Internet or to a Bose software or application, we may automatically receive information from the Bose product about how you use the product. Such information includes:
• Technical data, such as your product serial number or model number, device operating system version, MAC address(es), Wi-Fi® signal strength, firmware version, IP address, SSIDs, log files, durations, service tokens, Internet connection type and provider, and unique identifiers associated with the computer, tablet, or mobile device used in connection with the Bose product
Usage data, such as time spent using different features/settings of the product, the day and time you used the product, button presses, the media and other external sources to which you connect your product, and, as applicable, your product's power spectrum, sound pressure level, volume levels, and streaming information (including content stored on system presets, stations played, playlists, artists, albums, songs, or podcasts), time zone, and transactional data enabling digital rights management (e.g. for music content providers to give appropriate credit to artists depending on how often their content is played)
• Service "tokens" containing authentication information that enables delivery of third-party content to your Bose product (e.g. to sync your connected products to your Spotify account each time you use them)
• Diagnostic data, such as battery life, the quality of the wireless connection and error logs); and
• Environmental data (e.g. noise level and audio frequencies).

TuneIn started many years ago as an excellent service for aggregating online radio stations from all over the world. If a radio station was missing, you could email them and they would add it withing 48 hours. Since they switched to monitized platform, they became an evil monster. They barely reply to customer support and when they finally do reply, you get just simple canned replies. It is a platform driven by greed and profit only and it seems that most electronic manufacturers are jumping on this train as Tune-In becomes the exclusive internet radio service on many streaming devices.

I own a business in the consumer electronics and honestly I cannot recommend opur clients any device which has Tune-In because I know the client would not be able to get access to their favorite stations.

Currently I am not using the SoundTouch with TuneIn but rather use a mobile app used Radio.Net on my phone and stream to the SoundTouch via BT. But I'm very unhappy that I need to do this given the high price I paid for the SoundTouch

An easier workaround might be to download a free radio app such as radio.net to your mobile and connect it to the SoundTouch with BT.

Re: 11/28 Update: TuneIn/internet Radio Information

@Jason_G

Beyond engaging with TuneIn directly, our team is working to add a method for users to add any radio stream URL to SoundTouch and set it as a preset.

Yes, please, PLEASE do this !

If you still can't find the station you’re looking for, please leave a comment on this post with the station name and from where you are trying to listen. We will do our best to help. We’re truly sorry for this inconvenience.

All RTBF radio stations.
Adding our own radio stream URL would be fine though.

OK Can't get WXRT in Chicago.
