Acoustimass 300 changing lights and turn off

Hi. A couple of days ago my acoustimass 300 started to malfunction. The white light turns off, then orange and then white and repeats all the time. If the soundbar is off the light remains orange and doesnt turn off. 

I tried changing the cable and wall outlet, and also putting it next to the soundbar, with no success.

The main problem is that Im in Argentina, with no local support from Bose.

The rear speakers work just fine.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks for reaching out, I am sorry to hear you are having this experience. 

 

Is your accoustimass module produce audio? 

 

When you state the orange LED stays illuminated, is this static or does this consistently flash?

 

We do have local support in Argentina which can be located here. But before looking into any servicing options, we would love to provide you with further troubleshooting.

Hi. It doesnt produce any sound at all, even in the few seconds that its white.

The orange light is not static. It flashes slightly.

Soundtouch 300. Been using it for aproximately 2 years without a problem

Thanks for confirming this for me. 

 

What I would firstly suggest is that you perform a software update of your speakers. This can be done through the SoundTouch app. 

  • In the SoundTouch app, choose the menu icon  in the upper left
  • Choose Settings > Speaker Settings
  • Choose UPDATE SOFTWARE or UPDATE ALL if more than one system needs to update 
    (Tip: If no updates are available, the UPDATE SOFTWARE button is not selectable)
  • Wait for the update to complete, which can take up to 20 minutes per system depending on update size and network speed. Once updated, the system reboots.

If this does not provide any improvements, can you do an AUX connection between the soundbar and the bass module to see if your bass module is in fact able to product audio.

I recently updated to the latest version, so I dont see the option to update. I don't remember if the acoustimass was plugged when I updated.  Can the soundbar and acoustimass have 2 different versions?

The weird thing is that if I turn on the speakers using the soundtouch button and start listening to a spotify song, the acoustimass works fine for some time and then starts changing lights and not working.

Thank you for confirming that.

 

I would like to ask - have you ever seen a red blinking LED on the Acoustimass module at any point? Or does it consistently switch between orange and white.?

 

Also, have you tried plugging the bass module into a different socket just to double-check this isn't caused by any sort of power issue?

I have never seen a red light. I tried using another outlet, but didnt work
