Notice

The Bose Community Forum was launched at a time when robust online support was not available for Bose customers. Over the past several years we have added new online service channels that provide a more interactive and complete digital experience. Additionally, we have enhanced the My Bose Account capabilities to deliver a more personalized and self-service experience. As a result, Bose has made the decision to close Community Forum for Consumer electronics products on September 30th. The Bose Pro portion of the Community will still operate as usual.

Please visit our support homepage to experience one of our many other digital service channels or simply use your Community log-in credentials to sign in to your My Bose Account to view your orders and view support options.

Thank you to all who have contributed and benefited from interacting in our Community. We look forward to continuing to serve you online.

I want to use my Sony remote to control volume and able to turn on/off with the Sony remote, is this possible?

Hi Cali Roll.

Welcome to the Community! Thank you for your post.

The system can receive IR commands from other remote controls.

You can ask Sony on how you can program their universal remote to control the system.

Check this LINK as well for additional information.

I’ve clicked the link and went into Teach Mode. However, I click the buttons as instructed but nothing happens…

@Cali Roll, you may need to speak to Sony to see if their remote needs any extra codes or steps. Let me know what they say.

Spoke with Sony…spend hours on the chat, and beside I was told to check HDMI cables and resetting the device, the answer is no. I asked numerous times do I need a code for the remote, but kept on redirected to do something else…amazing customer service….

Hey Cali Roll,

Thanks for following up with us. I'm really sorry to hear about your experience with Samsung.

In terms of the functionality of your Lifestyle 135 with your Sony remote, this isn't something we can advise you on as we did not manufacture the remote. I would recommend getting in contact with them again. Maybe speaking with someone new will give you better options.

I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help to you.
