On Tuesday May 19th, we deployed an update to the SoundTouch applications. This release primarily updated compatibility and usage of AirPlay 2 for the SoundTouch Wireless Link adapter along with some minor bug fixes.

I'm sorry to hear you're unable to group your speakers after the most recent update.
If you haven't already, please try to factory reset your speakers then set them up as new devices to see if this helps to make a difference. As you didn't list your models and the reset process is different between some products, I would recommend visiting this link to search for factory reset instructions.
I would also recommend unplugging your router for a minimum of 5 minutes to see if this helps make a difference.

Same issue with stereo speakers on my SoundTouch 10.
Separating and then reconnecting the speakers as a stereo pair did however resolve the issue.

After the update I regularly get the message ‘Service not available’. I have tried many things, but unplugging my ST 10 and 20’s so far has been the only solution.
I was directed to update the sound touch app on my apple Mac using this link
i've had the please wait banner on my screen for 30 minutes , nothing downloading
I cannot get past the update app page on the app
