Thank you for confirming your speaker Killjoygreg,

Is it the IP address that you require? If so, this can be found by:

1. Open the SoundTouch app

2. Tap the menu button in the top left

3. Tap Settings

4. Tap About

5. Tap your speaker

The IP address will be listed here.

Kind regards,

Jeff G

Re: How do I find the wifi address of my speaker. Required by my router.

Thanks Jeff.

I think this only works if I can get my speaker online in the first place?

Problem is my speaker won’t connect. I can probably bypass the security and then get the address and then register it. Thanks for the advice. I will wait for my niece tomorrow and try this.

Thanks again.

Re: How do I find the wifi address of my speaker. Required by my router.

Hello Killjoygreg,

My apologies, I was not aware your speaker was not connected. Please ensure you give a full description of your issue when posting to enable us to provide the correct relevant information.

It sounds like you may require the system's MAC address to add to your router's filter.

To obtain the MAC address of the system using a tethered USB connection, follow these steps:

This method requires a computer (PC or Mac.)

  1. In the SoundTouch computer app, begin the setup process (Settings > Add or Reconnect System)
  2. When you reach the "Connect to home Wi-Fi network" screen, choose "System Information" to view the system's MAC address.

If this doesn't work, please try this:

To find the MAC addresses of a newer SoundTouch system when it's not connected to a network, follow these steps:

  1. Place the system in setup mode and connect a device to the Bose setup network.
  2. On the speaker's button pad, press and hold 2 and Volume – until the Wi-Fi indicator glows amber.
  3. Open the SoundTouch app on the connected device and go to Menu > Settings > Speaker Settings and select the system.
  4. Select CONNECT TO A WI-FI NETWORK and find the Bose setup network.
  5. Determine the IP address using a method below:
  • [ON A PC] Retrieve network info or run ipconfig/ifconfig from a computer.
  • [ON AN iPHONE or iPAD] Click on the “i” icon in iOS settings.
  • [ON AN ANDROID DEVICE] Once connected in Android, click on the network name. An Android device will show the phone or tablet’s IP address, so the router address will be the same first three octets, the fourth octet will need to be changed to

6. Once the system’s IP address has been determined, open a web browser and point it at [IP address]:8090/info

7. The page that loads will contain both MAC addresses for the system.

I hope this helps!

Kind regards,

Jeff G

Re: How do I find the wifi address of my speaker. Required by my router.

Thanks for your help Jeff.

I don’t normally use a PC. Not much call for me. I realise my shortcomings.  Think I can sort it out from here.

Again, I am much appreciative fr your help.
