I'm getting prompted to update on Mac OS every time I start the app. Installed version is 20.0.0. Installation fails without any message (update crashes) right after requesting system password. Any advice?
Solved! Solution.

No, it does not. The application is updating itself and crashing whilst doing that; ie: the update you are pushing out is defective. If I am not mistaken, the last major update did the same thing on the Mac OS platform.
Can you be more clear as to your advice? A link to where I can find the .dmg file you are recommending I run would be helpful.
Thank you.

Indeed this has happened a few times with SoundTouch updates and macOS. What I find works is to log out of the SoundTouch app. Go into the SoundTouch folder on the Mac, click on the uninstaller and let it run. Empty the trash. Reboot. Then go to the Bose site and look for the latest SoundTouch app. The one on the Bose site is the most current one. Download and install. Log back into SoundTouch account.
Hello Scottomatic,
I am sorry to hear that it did not work.
I would recommend you trying out what @rickatk is recommending and let us know how you get on.
Kind regards
I didn't try it yet. Where is the software you are telling me to install?

Thanks, that worked.
The update routine for Mac OS is broken and has been broken for two major updates. Please notify the development routine.
