Re: SoundTouch Firmware Update - 24.0.7

Hi, today I installed the latest update and I was glad to see that finally the Airplay 2 support was implemented. I only have a I Mac and tried the Airplay option on my ST20III. Worked like a charm and sounds great. I noticed that indeed the Wireless Soundtouch adapter is not available to be selected for Airplay playback. Schermafbeelding 2020-02-25 om 19.34.22.png

Only my two ST 20 III ( Kitchen and Front ) are available and I can select the one or the other. Will there be an option like in the Spotify app to playback the source to a group of ST speakers ?

Secondly I would like to know why the Wireless Soundtouch adapter is not available for Airplay 2 playback, all other ST options do work on my Wireless Soundtouch adapter even the AUX imput I use to playback CD's. Using Spotify I can also select my Wireless Soundtouch adapter ( Soundbar ) ?

Keep up the good work and development.

Regards,

Rob

I have a question. Here in Germany I've got the OTA 24.0.7. update for SoundTouch10.

But no airplay 2 support.

The guy on telephone at Bose checked the ST10 Serialnumber and told me, that even with the 24.0.7. update you have to wait until they do the roll out. Can that be true?

What do you think?

I don't believe this. I'm also in Germany and I downloaded the update files from the XML file that was posted in this thread. After I installed that firmware using the USB method on 2 x ST10 and 2 x ST20 they worked fine with Airplay2, so other than the firmware, there is no control by BOSE.

Just to double check, if you have the IP of one of your speakers, open this url in your browser and see if you have airplay as source listed:

Has anyone else noticed on iOS devices, the Equalizer settings do not work when Airplay is enabled to ST300 and ST10?

Is there a list out there of these special URL's? In this thread alone I've seen :

  • http://IP_OF_YOUR_SPEAKER:8090/info
  • http://IP_OF_YOUR_SPEAKER:8090/sources

I found this PDF and it showed me that there were some more :

  • :8090/key
  • :8090/select
  • :8090/bassCapabilities
  • :8090/bass
  • :8090/getZone
  • :8090/setZone
  • :8090/addZoneSlave
  • :8090/removeZoneSlave
  • :8090/now_playing
  • :8090/trackInfo
  • :8090/volume
  • :8090/presets
  • :8090/name

But it did not list swUpdateCheck. Are there others known that are not listed above?

I believe there are some more, you can get a full list of the documented SoundTouch API endpoints here, after you registered: https://developer.bose.com/bose-soundtouch-api

I'm pretty sure there are also undocumented endpoints but I haven't invested into finding them. Maybe when you sniff the traffic between your speaker and the ST app with wireshark you can get hints to some more.

Thanks for that @MusicLover92. I might have to do that.

Re: SoundTouch Firmware Update - 24.0.7

Updated my SoundTouch 10 (purchased Nov 2015) to v24.0.7 via OTA update today. AirPlay 2 not showing, rebooted/powered off everything router, ST10, iOS devices and no AirPlay show.

AirPlay is not showing up under http://ip:8090/sources either, so I guess I'll be calling Bose.

Bose should have said Manufactured and not "purchased". I do not believe Bose recalled all of their SoundTouch lines and replaced them all with updated ones in November 2015. With Christmas around the corner that wouldn't have made any sense.

So people who purchased SoundTouch systems in 2015 and possibly some even in early 2016 would have most likely purchased one that was manufactured before October 2015 (though I'm sure some would have lucked out).
