Bose Companion 5 Speakers - USB

I have Companion 5 Speakers with a USB connector. My new television doesn't support them. The RCA Mono Audio L/R in back of the LG 32LM620BPUA are input. There's an Optical Digital Audio Out, however. What adapter do I need to connect the Companion speakers to the television?

Re: Bose Companion 5 Speakers - USB

Hello cre99,

Thanks for reaching out!

These speakers are intended to be used with a computer and not a TV. They are designed to be connected via USB. I would be reluctant to suggest an adapter as it will most likely not work.

However, if anyone else has had any success with this, please do let us know!

Thanks. So, even though the television has USB ports, the speakers won't work with it?

Re: Bose Companion 5 Speakers - USB

I can't think of any TV that outputs sound over USB.  It's just not a technology that suits TVs when there are better options.
