Bose Companion 5 and Mac OS Mojave

Hello,

 

I have been using my Companion 5 speakers for more than 5 years with my late 2012 iMac. Never had any problems whatsoever until I updated to OS Mojave when it was released last year. After that, my iMac just stopped recognizing the Companion 5; it is as if it was not plugged to the USB port.

 

I also tried it on my 2017 MacBook Pro and got the exact same problem. 

 

Please help!

I'm sorry to hear of the issues you're having with your companion 5 and would be happy to point you in the right direction!

When you say that your devices are not discovering the Companion 5, is this simply not finding the speakers or that they cannot be accessed?

Additionally, when this is connected/disconnected from the port, do you hear any audio confirming that this has been connected/disconnected? If so, this might indicate that the speaker is being found but is either set to 0 volume or muted.

my iMac does not find the speaker. When I connect/disconnet, I do not hear any sound at all.

Same here since the last Mojave update made yesterday.

 

My Bose Companion 5 has disappeared from the list via USB. 

I need to use Analog Jack exit from my brand new 13' Macbook Pro.

 

Before the latest update, it was functionnal...

 

What can we do ?

Tom, as the issue is related to the Mac OS update I would also post your question over at the Apple Support Community website or report it to Apple Support.
