Bose Remote - broke

Our Bose remote  which manages the speakers for the TV is broke.  We changed the battery to no avail.  The system is very old.  I have a picture of the remote and serial number - I cannot insert it here unfortunately.  Any advice ?  We have to get off the couch (;-)) to turn on sound and volume.  Thank you !
