Companion® 20 multimedia speaker system - White Noise

I just purchased the Companion® 20 multimedia speaker system, there is a hiss/white noise coming from the speakers. Unplugging the control pod eliminates the noise. Is this a known issue with the control pod?

I would love to do what I can to assist you with this. Can you please inform me of the following;

 

- What computer you are connecting to?

- Have you ensured that all connections are securely in place?

- Does this hissing/ white noise occur once music is playing?

Hi - Thanks for the reply. All the cables are secure. I increased the volume on the source and the noise isn't noticeable during music playback. I can hear it when paused. However, when I unplug the control pod the noise stops. The Bose speaks replaced a much lower quality set of speaks that didn't have any noise.

Thanks for confirming this. 

 

I would recommend that you reset your system by following these steps:

  1. Turn off the device connected to the system
  2. Unplug the power cord of the system from the power outlet. Wait 30 seconds
  3. Reconnect the power cord
  4. Retest the system

Thanks...I tried those steps, but the white noise still persists.
