Extra Speaker

Hi,

I own the Companion 5 system and I am very content with it. I have an extra speaker lying around, one with a white connection on the end, and I was wondering if it was possible to DIY connect it to the subwoofer, so there’s 3 speakers total? Will it be too much for the subwoofer?

Thank you in advance.

Re: Extra Speaker

Hello!

I wouldn't recommend that... The companion 5 was designed to be a stand alone, self contained 2.1 system. If you were to jerry-rig it, the power brick inside the subwoofer may not take the additional load and fail.

Best of luck!

Thank you for your response. That’s what I was afraid of - I just couldn’t find any specs for the subwoofer regarding this?

Sadly, Bose historically doesnt publish it's speaker/power ratings on systems like that, usually just on the bookshelf speakers so you can match the watts and ohms.

That being said, I'm pretty sure people online have tested them and found what the specs read... just gotta do some deep diving!
