sound dock doesn't work!!

I hate this stupid sound dock... I can never get it to work and the instructions are ridiculously unhelpful! It says it's connected to my laptop via bluetooth and the battery is charged and even plugged into laptop ...nothing no sound ... and it's incredibly frustrating! 

can anyone tell me what to do to get this stupid thing to work!!!!!
