AWRCC2 CD saying "unplayable"

We were given this great Bose CD player/radio, it looks brand new, but when we insert a CD it says "reading CD", makes a weird noise, then says "CD unplayable" and spits it back out.

 

What can we check.  ????

I'm sorry that you've not been able to play CDs on your Wave Music System so far. I'd love to help. 

 

To confirm, is this the CD slot on the Wave Music System itself or is there a multi-disc changer connected?

 

Have you tried multiple CDs with the same result?

I have tried multiple cd's yes.

 

The CD player is part of the unit, yes.

Thanks for confirming this. 

 

Let's begin by resetting the system. This can be done by removing a CD (if inserted), then remove the power cord for 30 seconds. After reconnecting power, wait for PLEASE WAIT to disappear from the system display. 

 

Also, please be sure that you are using compatible disc formats. You can find out which ones can be used below.
