You just need a BT receiver plugged into the stereo input of the Acoustic wave. Bose's only option is the Soundtouch wireless link adapter, but it does more than BT so may be more than you need. Most 3rd party receivers should be fine.
Yes you can do Bluetooth on the old wave radio.
I bought a cheap little adapter that has the RCA plugs on one end, and the adapter charges up with USB. Once it's charged hook it to the RCA plug adapter. Put your radio on AUX, then connect the bluetooth with your phone, tablet or computer. I even run Alexa and all the music through my phone and then through my Wave. It works great!
I have the old 1990's version of the wave radio. So if it works with a nearly 30 year old machine it should work with the rest.
