On starting the system, I am regularly asked to do a software update. I then proceed with this and watch it say that it is being downloaded. Then nothing - no download file appears at the top of the screen and there is nothing in the Downloads folder on Finder. Can you help me please?

If you are referring to the SoundTouch application, I would recommend uninstalling the current version of the app, then visit this link to download a fresh copy.
