Re: Bose wave soundtouch IV vs Bose Acoustic wave music 2. Which one performs a lot better ?

Hello,

The Wave Soundtouch and Acoustic Wave II (the latter of which was discontinued by Bose some time ago) are two different types of systems. The AW II does not have a built-in alarm clock radio function, or the ability to play music wirelessly via a Wi-Fi network, or over Bluetooth (at least not without an SA-1 amplifier, and a Bose home entertainment system, such as a Lifestyle system, or a 3-2-1 system). The AW II is a much larger system, and therefore has a larger Waveguide inside the unit, so it may have slightly "larger" sound.

You can also run the AW II on an optional battery pack, so you can take it outside to use, on camping trips, etc., whereas the Soundtouch needs to be plugged into an AC outlet. The AW II is more suited for those who need a system to listen to music, and don't need an alarm clock function, while the Soundtouch is for those who want to listen to music off of their Bluetooth device, or via a Wi-Fi network, and may want to use it as an alarm clock as well.

In the end, it all comes down to what you're using the system for. Both systems sound great, but then again, the AW II might have a "larger" sound quality due to its larger Waveguide. Hope this helps give you a bit of insight to help you come to a decision.
