Driving Headphones with the Wave Soundtouch iv

Hi, just purchased some higher impedance headphones and I am unable to find any specs about what kind of headphone amp and DAC is inside the wave SoundTouch iv. I am trying to determine if the system can drive the headphones without needing an external amp and dac.

Re: Driving Headphones with the Wave Soundtouch iv

Hi Dmcamara,

Thanks for posting to the Bose Community.

If you're using a high impedance headphone to connect to your Wave Music System IV, you will likely require a third-party amplifier. While there is a headphone port on the system to output audio, the Wave Music System IV is intended primarily to be a speaker system to provide great quality audio that we at Bose are known and loved for.

We're unable to comment on, or disclose the technical specifications on the system, due to the nature of internal hardware.

Kindest,

Re: Driving Headphones with the Wave Soundtouch iv

Thanks for the response. So how would I connect the amp to the Bose system? Would I use the headphone output in speaker mode and connect the amp that way? Thanks again
