Is there a way to connect a wireless speaker to a Bose Wave Music system IV? I would like to hear the CD that is playing on the Wave in another room.
The Bluetooth adapter purpose seems to be to connect a wireless device playing music to the Bose Wave Music system IV. There was a mention on the Web about a SoundTouch IV Pedestal. This sounded like a possible solution but I cannot find the product anywhere.
A couple of different things there and you mostly have the right idea.
The BT adapter is only an input so it won't go out to other devices. Even with a BT transmitter you will likely be limited by range. If the second speaker is outside of 10m (and walls can make this distance shorter) you may get low reception.
The SoundTouch pedestal is not available separately. Even if you purchased a new one it would not solve your problem. It will stream to other SoundTouch devices over wifi, but only from streaming sources (Internet/BT sources) and not the CD/Radio.
The easiest way to do it with your system is with the ST wireless link adapter. Plugged into the headphone out you can then play to other SoundTouch devices. The restriction here is that because it's plugged into the headphone out, it assumes you want headphones and mutes the Wave system. So you can get CD sound on the Wave OR in the second room. Not both.
Thank you for your helpful reply. Would the Bose Wave SoundTouch IV Wireless Music System be able to play a CD and stream the sound to a wireless speaker in another room?
