when cd in the Bose Radio CD player I get a cd not playable error but I can play the same cd when it's in the multi-cd changer.

I am sorry to hear that you are having difficulty with the built-in CD player on your Wave system.
For clarification, could you please enter your serial number here and confirm the model of your Wave system.
Does this happen with all CDs?
My first suggestion for any CD player would be a disc lens cleaner. You can generally grab one of these at most electronics stores.

My player worked for a few years without any issues but now, suddenly, ever CD I own is coming up "not playable" in my BOSE Wave system. I cleaned every single CD and also ran a disc cleaner through the player to clean it. I also unplugged it, hoping that would reset things. Still no luck. Please advise.
Thanks for trying that troubleshooting already! As you are still unable to play your CDs after doing that, could you please let me know which model of Wave system you have? If you are unsure, you can double-check this with our Product Identifier.
There is likely more troubleshooting that you can do still, and knowing which model you have will help us find what the next best step will be!

I am also having the same issue where my CDs won't play. I tried other good discs and finding other outlets. I even unplugged the Wave system. I bought this from my Aunt Nancy.

I am having the same issue, tried unplugging the unit. Every disc including the lens cleaning disc get the same error message..not playable. Any other suggestions? thanks K
Sorry to hear you're having some difficulties playing your CD's. May I recommend that you attempt the following, to see if this helps:
1. Unplug your system from power.
2. Flip the system upside down.
3. Gently tap the bottom to clear any dust/debris/dirt.
4. Flip back over, plug in, and test CDs.
Let me know if you find any improvement or change in behavior!
I had the same problem and I'm chatting with someone from Bose customer support right now. I thought I'd try the upside down, tap on bottom method, AND IT WORKED. Bose support should know that, but... I will purchase a lens cleaner at some point, but it seems I'm good for now. Thanks to whoever came up with that idea. ps I'm still on hold waiting for an answer to " should I buy a CD cleaner" I'll let him know how to fix? it.
Thanks! It worked for me. Do you work for Bose? If not, you should. Is there any way if this is an issue in the future, to clean out the dust, debris etc that we've tapped off inside?
