Managing multiple connected devices

Hearphones support attachment to a second bluetooth source, e.g. PC's, smart speakers (Alexa and Dot.) Moving from one additional device to another requires "forgetting" the Hearphone's ID from the current 2nd source while actively attached to the Hearphone. What if the current second source is unavailable? What if  I wan to switch to a different cell phone controller. In my case I somehow caused my Hearphone to lose the ID of the cellphone controller. Can't we start from scratch?

Yes! While not stated in our instructions, other Bose bluetooth products allow clearing the internal ID table by holding the power button for 10 seconds. This works on the Hearphone as well!

Of course you must pair again to your cell phone. But in swapping second BT sources, resetting is so much simpler.

Thanks for your note.  It sounds like you're going to a lot of trouble to switch between devices.  I have my Heaphones paired to six or seven devices.    I don't have clear the Bluetooth pairing list to switch between two active connections. These notes from Bose describe how things work for me.  -- ST

Applies to:

• QuietControl 30 wireless headphones
• Bose Hearphones

• You can store up to eight paired mobile devices in the headphone pairing list and your headphones can be actively connected to two devices at a time 
• You can only play audio from one device at a time 
• When powered on, the headphones will automatically connect to the two most recently connected devices

Switching between two connected devices

Pause audio on your first device

Play audio on your second device

Reconnecting a previously paired device

Press the Power/Bluetooth® button to hear which device is connected

Press the Power/Bluetooth button again within three seconds to connect to the next device in the headphone pairing list. Repeat until you hear the correct device name

Play audio on the connected device

Thanks! I'll try it out and get back to you whether this applies to the Hearphone. I'll be curious to know how they prevent an added device from popping the controller (cell phone) off the stack when you reach the limit of connected devices. In that respect the Hearphone is unique; the controller has greater I/O functionality than an audio source. Thanks again.
