How does ‘bud not in ear’ detection work?

Just curious about how this is detected, is it based on detection of small amounts of feedback or what?

Thanks,

- Ion

Hi ion.jorj,

I'll have to see if Bose has disclosed how this function works. In the meantime, you may enjoy this video about how we engineered some of our Bose noise cancelling headphones (including your Hearphones).

Enjoy,

Hi Ion,

I got some more information for you about the in-ear detection.

We look at differences in sound picked up by the different microphones in each earbud, to detect when the earbud is not in the ear.

Did you enjoy the video?
