Unable to pair with Alexa

I am unable to successfully pair with Alexa (the full speaker, haven't tried Dot yet.)

With Android bluetooth off, Alexa sees Bose but reports "cannot pair."

This occurs whether or not the pairing is initiated by power buutton or by Pause.

Amazon Dot similarly fails to pair, even though Bose is recognized as a Bluetooth device in range. Both Alexa and Hearphone report failure to pair.

I finally got the Dot to pair. I am probably at fault; I didn't press the power button long enough to get the BLUE light (instead settled for the whitish one.)
